Harmonious Wail Workshop and Master Class

All members of the band love teaching. Maggie’s vocal workshops are always full

and her private classes help vocalists find their true voice. Expand your range,

open up, realize your pure tone. Sims has a knack for explaining musical theory

in an easy to grasp fashion, debunking the fear of improvising. Having learned

from Jethro Burns and Matt Glaser at Berklee School of Music, Sims’ lessons focus

on right hand technique, fingerings and left hand tips and will always impart a

few hot riffs & licks. Tom is a master of "le pompe" the rhythmic approach

specific to gypsy jazz ala Django Reinhardt. There are also tons of riffs, intros,

outros and solos both in the gypsy swing idiom as well as jazz guitar, country

and bluegrass riffs. Matt Rodgers is a bass player’s bass player. He lights up when

we talks about the bass and completely understands how to approach the

instrument’s beautiful tone with out over playing. All teachers are adept at

"reading" the class and laying out hands on information that will hit the mark,

finding that perfect balance, speaking a language all can understand while

bringing real substance to each class. It is a virtual guarantee that your

musicianship will step up a notch after a Harmonious Wail workshop.

Workshop is from 1pm-3pm and the cost is $40 per person.
